Consultancy

In order for an organisation to manage its IT systems effectively it needs to know what its existing assets are, what its requirements are, what needs to be improved and what future expenditure is likely to be.

Along with the services we provide, we can help you collect the information you need by completing a systems audit, analyse the resulting data and then work with you to develop a strategy for taking your systems forward. Typical points for consideration include:

- Network infrastructure: is your internet service provider supplying a suitable level of service for your needs? Is your network connectivity at the office adequate for your needs (are you still using wifi at the office?) Is your cabling around the office good enough?

- Hardware: are your computers so slow they are costing your organization too much lost time? Do you have enough storage for your needs? Is your hardware reliable enough? Are your computers still covered by guarantee? If not, are spare parts still available? Are your printers able to meet your demands?

- Software: how many licenses do you actually own? Is everyone working on the same operating system? Is everyone working on the same version of the office suite you use? If you have Mac's, do they work well with your PCs? Do you need to upgrade to newer versions of anything soon?

- Security: is your network firewall doing its job? Is your sensitive data sufficiently protected? Is your data backed up? What about the physical security of your machines? How is your antivirus performing? Is your inbox full of spam?

- Expenditure: how many machines will need replacing in the next year? When is your antivirus license due for renewal? When is your internet domain renewal due? What about your hosting and email contracts?

We will work closely with you to establish how your systems are currently used and what, if any, other features you would like to implement. Then we can work through any relevant issues with you and produce a document outlining a strategy for you, covering issues such as those given above.
